Cayuga Duck Hatching Eggs
Cayuga Ducks originated from Cayuga county in New York, not a thriving breed they are currently on the Conservatory Watch List. They weigh between 5-8 lbs and lay about 4 eggs weekly. They are a quieter duck and like to spend most of their time bathing or sunning. They hatch as a black duckling and grow into an adult with black coloring that has green and purple beetling. As the hens age their white feathers will spread across their plumage.
They are hardy in both heat and cold and are easy to tame, eating out of your hand easily. Their meat is said to be quite good and they are a good dual purpose breed because of their sturdy size and consistent egg laying. Their eggs are particularly special since early in the season they will be dark (on rare occasions black) grey and the yolk very rich and thick, perfect for baking pastries.

Return & Refund Policy
Our average Cayuga egg fertility rate has not been calculated and no one can guarantee that every egg collected will be fertile, but it is rare for us to come across an infertile egg as we have 3 drakes with our 8 hens. Be aware of the risks of receiving eggs through the post as we cannot be held responsible for rough handling by the postal service. Due to this we cannot refund any hatching egg orders that are made or accept returns. We will collect and mail out eggs as early as possible, although some may be a few days older if it is from a limited breed and have a larger order. If you are in the area we would prefer you to pick up eggs to avoid any a rough transit.
