Black & White Silkie Hatching Eggs
Silkies originated in Southeast Asia nearly 1000 years ago and are a very old breed. They are known for their "fur" like feathers and were even mentioned by Marco Polo in his travels.
They are a small breed that although isn't typically used for meat, they are considered a delicacy due to their distinctive dark blue skin. Some of their special attributes include this special colored skin, their fur-like feathers, their adorable crests, an extra toe and our particular breed we only breed with bearded silkies, because we love the look so much.
Our girls are amazing brooders, keeping them laying can be a challenge because they want to set whenever they find a clutch of eggs. They are also excellent mothers and will surrogate other chicks, we've even had one take on a duckling. They are friendly and easy to handle, and are perfect for a pet or first time owner since they are easy to keep in an enclosure, but are decent foragers. If you do let them forage they are particuarly susceptible to preditors because of their tiny stature and fluffy crests that limit their view.
Currently our White and Black hens are together and so if ordered you will recieve an unknown color but a pure egg of either black or white. If you are particular about a color preference contact us so we can separate the hens to have the color that you are looking for.

Return & Refund Policy
Our average silkie fertility rate is 46 %, as our black silkies have a low fertility despite having two roosters (Big Maui and Little Maui) and two hens (Moana and Konalani) and we are working on the issue and so cannot guarantee the fertility of any eggs. Our White Silkies are more successful currently and if you would prefer those eggs please contact us for arrangements.
Be aware of the risks of receiving eggs through the post as we cannot be held responsible for rough handling by the postal service. Due to this we cannot refund any hatching egg orders that are made or accept returns. We will collect and mail out eggs as early as possible, although some may be a few days older if it is from a limited breed and have a larger order. If you are in the area we would prefer you to pick up eggs to avoid any a rough transit.
